St. Christopher Parish
St. Christopher Parish is seeking a part-time Secretary/Bookkeeper to join their team in Marquette, MI. As Secretary/Bookkeeper you will provide front-desk and receptionist services, manage parish records, prepare mailings and bulletins, and perform various data entry and clerical duties. You will also assist with financial tasks such as payroll, invoice processing, financial reporting, and support for parish fundraising and events.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive salary of $17.00 – $20.00 per hour commensurate with education and experience.
- Part-time (20 hours per week).
- Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 8:00 am – 1:00 pm.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Provide receptionist services.
- Maintain parish records (sacraments, registrations, donations) and filing systems.
- Perform data entry and update parishioner information in the census program.
- Manage Mass Intentions, Church donations, and issue receipts.
- Prepare and distribute parish mailings and weekly bulletins.
- Coordinate office volunteers and assist with parish events.
- Handle communications with Diocesan offices.
- Manage payroll and prepare financial reports as needed.
- Process invoices, vouchers, and support accounting tasks.
- Assist with fundraising.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- High school diploma is required.
- 3+ years of experience working in an office is preferred.
- Previous administrative, secretarial, or bookkeeping experience preferred.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping/accounting principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer and typing skills.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Basic knowledge of Catholic parish life and Catholic Faith.
- Able to work with a diverse population.
